Jennifer Guttenberg, the mother of 14-year-old Parkland victim Jaime Guttenberg, admonished Nikolas Cruz for wearing a COVID mask during his sentencing hearing, telling him it was 'disrespectful to be hiding your expressions under a mask' when the families are addressing him. Cruz then took his mask off for the rest of the hearing, but remained emotionless.
Minutes later, Judge Elizabeth Scherer handed down 34 consecutive life sentences — one each for the people he murdered and the 17 he wounded — for the Feb. 14, 2018, massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
