An Education: Jimmy Choo Academy Students to Design Uniform

SMART DESIGN: Valeria Peeva and Maxi Purton, students at Jimmy Choo’s JCA London Fashion Academy, have won a contest to design the staff uniform for the Saïd Business School on the University of Oxford. The scholars took inspiration from town’s architecture, which might be out later this yr for the catering, reception and housekeeping teams. The sketches from the pair of designers show a relaxed tackle uniforms with relaxed trousers; cropped and sleeveless sweaters, and deconstructing the classic blazer by giving it a softer edge. Publish Dictionary Of African American English Paul Marotta/ GETTY IMAGES Publish Dictionary Of African American English Oxford University Press and Harvard University are collaborating to create the Oxford Dictionary of African American English (ODAAE). Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Director of Harvard University’s Hutchins Center for African and American Research, will provide editorial guidance to Oxford because it develops a dictionary dedicated to African American Vernacular English (AAVE). “African American English has had a profound impact on the world’s most generally spoken language, yet much of it has been obscured,” Casper Grathwohl, President of Oxford Languages at Oxford University Press said in a written statement. “The ODAAE seeks to acknowledge this contribution more fully and formally and, in doing so, create a strong tool for a...
