Cher Plots Fragrance Launch, Talks Emojis, Retirement

Cher Plots Fragrance Launch, Talks Emojis, Retirement
Cher is enthusiastic about emojis.  Asked about them, her voice lights up.  “I started off with emojis because I’m dyslexic.…I also think, and that is what I believe is the genius of emoji, is emoji are like hieroglyphs,” Cher said.  “With one picture you may express more because you may see the expression, or after I’m saying something concerning the one who will remain nameless and I would like to say something that is just not nice but in a way that I can explain it, I’ll just throw those peanuts — and it’s like you understand that what I’m saying is, ‘He’s nuts,'” Cher said. Farm Rio Lands in Italy, Plots European Expansion

Farm Rio Lands in Italy, Plots European Expansion
MILAN — It was hard to miss Farm Rio’s takeover of Rinascente here on Wednesday. Situated on Rinascente’s basement floor dedicated to design, the pop-up will run through May 1 and shall be flanked by similar outposts of various sizes in all the retailer’s nine units across Italy, including the 2 locations in Rome and people...

The brand’s gender-neutral, two-pocket cashmere work shirts in solids and tartans, with handcrafted snap buttons constructed from healing stones like emeralds for health and wealth; lapis lazuli for wisdom and truth, and labradorite for balance and protection are the most recent cult casual-luxe item to return out of Los Angeles. Soft like a hug (a hug from Brad Pitt, no less), the $2,000-plus shirts are being snapped up by in-the-know shoppers in stores from Serenella in Boston to Boon the Shop in Seoul. 4 years in, God’s...

EXCLUSIVE: With His Label on Hiatus, Kenneth Ize Plots
PARIS — Kenneth Ize has put his label on pause as he plots his next move after parting ways together with his investor last summer. The Nigerian designer revealed he was taking a break in a transient Instagram post on July 23, and was a no-show at Paris Fashion Week in the autumn. In his first interview on the topic, Ize told WWD he stopped working with Roberta Annan, the founder and managing partner of the Impact Fund for African Creatives, or IFFAC, and is hoping to relaunch this 12 months on his own terms. After struggling initially to digest the setback, he said he was feeling energized and able to bring recent ideas to the table. Ize, who grew up and studied fashion...
