Raisefashion and the Anti-Racism Fund Are Reaching Out to
In an effort to achieve more students and create profession opportunities, Raisefashion has upped the ante for the third installment of its paid internship program with the Anti-Racism Fund. This time around outreach was prolonged to 13 HBCUs, in comparison with 4 last yr. Candidates from six of the 13 HBCUs have been accepted. There have been greater than 500 candidates vying for the 29 spots on this yr’s summer program. Lately some corporations and organizations have been attempting to create a pipeline for aspiring designers and other creatives, who're keen to pursue a profession in fashion, in an effort to make the industry more diverse and attainable to a wider swath of individuals from different backgrounds. Raisefashion Holds First In-person Event to Support BIPOC Creatives
Raisefashion, a corporation dedicated to the advancement of creatives who're Black, Indigenous, or People of Color, celebrated the importance of community and programs that support up-and-comers with its first in-person event Tuesday night. Nearly 200 people attended what turned out to be a standing-room-only gathering at Soho House, in line with a post-event e-mail from the nonprofit’s founder Felita Harris. The organization was founded in 2020, following the police murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis and the Black Lives Matter movement. With Harris on the helm, Raisefashion provides mentorship, resources and industry access to enhance the equity of Black, Indigenous or People of Color individuals.
