Saks’ Q3 Report: Transcending Industry Trends
While e-commerce industrywide experiences a diminishing rate of sales gains this 12 months, Saks.com is finding one other path. “It’s slightly little bit of a unique story for Saks,” said Marc Metrick, chief executive officer of Saks, the e-commerce business for the Saks Fifth Avenue luxury brand. “As you concentrate on it, we’re still seeing outsized growth online versus where we're in stores. We’re still getting the massive growth online that we would like,” Metrick said in an interview. Dove Report Says Beauty Standards Cost Economy 1 Billion
A recent report from Dove has quantified beauty ideals’ weight on the economy, to the tune of $806 billion. In line with the report, released Tuesday, appearance-based discrimination (an umbrella term for skin shade and body size) cost the U.S. $501 billion in 2019, and body dissatisfaction set the economy back $305 billion in the course of the same time period. They each affect a respective 66 million and 45 million individuals. Dove relied on S. Bryn Austin, a researcher on the Harvard Chan School of Public Health and Boston Children’s Hospital, in addition to a team of economists from Deloitte Access Economics. Hims & Hers Releases First ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’
Telehealth company Hims & Hers has released its inaugural “Let’s Talk About Sex” report, which goals to demystify the ever-growing sexual wellness category by debunking common sex misconceptions. The 7,000-person survey addresses top of mind questions, gender and age biases, in addition to the results of the COVID-19 pandemic and the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Hims & Hers is a component of the rapidly growing sexual wellness market, which also includes brands like Maude, which have launched in major retailers, akin to Sephora. The Hims & Hers report projects the worldwide sex toy market will reach $62.32 billion by 2030.
