Roger Vivier Debuts Viv’ Choc Collection of One-of-a-kind Creations

PIÈCE UNIQUE: Roger Vivier made its first showing during couture since artistic director Gherardo Felloni joined the label, presenting a set of one-of-a-kind handbags intended to have a good time the peak of French craftsmanship. The 15 designs, based on one among the brand’s classics, the Viv’ Choc bag with its rectangular clasp, feature a spread of embellishments and craft techniques, from plumasserie to embroideries with a whole bunch of shivering natural pearls. The Colibri design, for instance, was inspired by the 1959 “Choc” heel designed by Roger Vivier, with which he innovated by integrating feathers traditionally utilized in hat-making. Carla Bruni, Roger Federer Help Unveil Karl Lagerfeld Exhibition

ALL ABOUT KARL: France’s former first lady Carla Bruni and Roger Federer turned up Monday on the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s unveiling of the Costume Institute’s “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” The museum’s director Max Hollein, the Wendy Yu chief curator in charge Andrew Bolton and Condé Nast’s global content officer Anna Wintour headlined the morning press preview. Roger Federer Inks Eyewear License With EssilorLuxottica

EYE TO EYE: Fans of retired tennis star Roger Federer won’t see him on the courts as much, but he’s increasingly visible in the style field. The athlete, who's a friend of Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour, is certainly one of the 2023 Met Gala co-chairs. Meanwhile, eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica announced on Thursday it had inked an exclusive global license cope with Federer for the design, manufacturing and global distribution between his brand and the Oliver Peoples label. The duration of the agreement was not disclosed.
