Coty to Stop Business in Russia
Coty Inc. will wind down operations in Russia, which make up barely greater than 3 percent of the whole business, the corporate said Wednesday. “After careful consideration, including evaluation of relevant U.S., U.K. and other applicable regulation, Coty has decided to wind down its Russian operations starting immediately,” the corporate said in an announcement. Coty’s move to stop operations in Russia comes nearly two months after many big beauty and consumer products corporations, including Coty, halted industrial activity there, as a result of Russian president Vladimir Putin’s continuing attack on Ukraine. Sephora to Exit Russia – WWD
PARIS — Sephora is exiting Russia. The prestige beauty retailer said Monday that it has inked an agreement to sell the entire shares in its subsidiary within the country to its general manager there. The move, in response to Sephora in a press release, has been done to favor “continuity for workers.” The LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned retailer in early March suspended its operations in Russia, after the beginning of the war in Ukraine. Henkel Finalizes Sale of Russia Business Unit – WWD
PARIS – Henkel AG has finalized the sale of its business activities in Russia to a consortium of local financial investors for 54 billion rubles, or $689.6 million, the group said Thursday. The German maker of Schwarzkopf, Dial and Diadermine products had announced on April 20  its signing of an agreement to sell that activity, following Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Also on Thursday, the Düsseldorf-based group reported first-quarter sales of 5.6 billion euros, up 6.4 percent on a reported basis and 6.6. percent in organic terms.
