Paris Museum to Showcase Azzedine Alaïa’s Collection of Vintage
TREASURE TROVE: Palais Galliera is staging one other Azzedine Alaïa retrospective this yr — only this time, it should focus not on his own designs, but on his vast personal collection of high fashion garments. Titled “Azzedine Alaïa, couturier collectionneur” (“Azzedine Alaïa: Couturier, collector,”) the exhibition will run on the Paris City Hall-backed fashion museum from Sept. 27 until Jan. 21, 2024. The show will draw on an archive of 20,000 garments amassed by the late Tunisian designer, said Olivier Saillard, director of the Association Azzedine Alaïa and curator of the exhibition. Richemont executive Mauro Grimaldi met the French designer at his graduate show on the Geneva University of Art...

Madonna, Saint Laurent Showcase ‘Sex’ Book Reedition at Art
On easily the busiest night Art Basel Miami Beach has seen to this point, Saint Laurent drew a specific crowd onto the beach for a viewing well price waiting in traffic for. Curated by Saint Laurent’s Anthony Vaccarello, the brand presented an exhibition of Steve Miesel’s iconic 1992 photography book “Sex,” featuring quite a few photographs of Madonna. Thirty years later, the photographs still have as much impact as ever, and on display in large scale on the partitions of the pop-up construction they demanded one’s attention. Vacarello was in attendance for the opening party Thursday night (the exhibit ran through Sunday) and Madonna herself made an appearance on the party to see her images. Other guests included Zoë Kravitz, Laura...
