A recent collection from Smashbox carries witchy undertones. The cosmetics company’s latest collaborator is Bri Luna, founding father of popular modern mystics site The Hoodwitch. Today, Smashbox and Luna unveiled The Crystalized Collection, a seven-piece line of crystal-infused makeup products, inspired by Luna’s work with rituals, that adds to beauty’s increasing fixation with crystals. “We’re having this resurgence in spirituality with crystals and alternative types of healing, but when you concentrate on it, these are things which have at all times been relevant in the wonder industry,” Luna said. “You’re going back to the true origins of cosmetics being formed from minerals and crystals and using them as a form of decoration. Smashbox Exits U.K. and Ireland – WWD

Smashbox, the Los Angeles-born cosmetics brand best known for its primers, is pulling out of the U.K. and Ireland, a key beauty market. “An accumulation of challenges has sadly been greater than our business can withstand and we’ve needed to make the heart-breaking decision to now not accept orders within the U.K. and Ireland starting September 29, 2022. While the Estée Lauder Cos. has been grappling with much talked-about issues in China as its travel retail market did not bounce back after the coronavirus pandemic, it’s also been quietly coping with other struggles out West. Its California brands — Smashbox, Too Faced and Glamglow — have all initiated layoffs previously 12 months as those businesses face challenges, while international operations have also been scaled back for some.
