Lacoste and Sporty & Wealthy Unveil Collaboration
Lacoste is dipping into its archives for its latest collaboration. The French fashion label is teaming with sportswear brand Sporty & Wealthy for a group that leverages Lacoste’s archival styles from the ’70s and ’80s. The 22-piece collection offers apparel and accessories including tracksuits, sweatshirts, pleated skirts, tank tops, jumpsuits, hats and polo shirts.  The gathering was co-created by Lacoste’s former creative director Louis Trotter and Sporty & Wealthy founder Emily Oberg.  “It was super clear that we each desired to go into the archives and have a look at the past,” Oberg said. “Our brand may be very much a vintage-inspired brand, so [Trotter] sent me a ton of photos of their archive from the ‘70s and ‘80s after which we just...

PRADA’S SPORTY SIDE: Prada has named Chinese basketball player Shuyu Yang as its latest brand ambassador. The athlete appears in a series of photos and a brief film wearing pieces from the brand’s latest men’s collection and twiddling with a red basketball, or listening to music from a vintage turntable. With greater than 3 million followers on Weibo, China’s own Twitter, Yang reached national fame by helping China rating a bronze medal in the ladies’s 3×3 basketball tournament within the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. GOTTA WEAR SHADES: The Tommy Hilfiger sunglasses were suspended in blocks of ice, broadcast on stacks of TV sets and on the disposal of guests for photos at various selfie stations, one depicting a futuristic city within the brand’s red, white and blue palette. Custom cocktails were tailored to varied lifestyles — beach, mountain or city — considered one of them steaming like a cauldron.
