P&G Beats Wall Street Expectations, Awaiting Return of Travel

Procter & Gamble beat Wall Street expectations on the highest and bottom lines, but profits were bolstered partly by price hikes and it still isn’t seeing the recovery in travel retail that it had hoped for. The buyer goods giant reported third-quarter fiscal-year 2023 net sales of $20.1 billion, a rise of 4 percent versus the prior 12 months. Analysts polled by Factset forecast $19.3 billion. Organic sales, which exclude the impacts of foreign exchange and acquisitions and divestitures, rose 7 percent. Diluted net earnings per share were $1.37, a rise of three percent versus the prior 12 months, beating Wall Street expectations for $1.32. Net earnings were $3.4 billion for the quarter. Perfect White Tee, cofounded by Lisa Hickey and Jen Menchaca, has quietly opened its first store at 262 Elizabeth Street in Recent York. The grand opening is planned for Thursday. The shop is roughly 500 square feet and sells the corporate’s lineup of T-shirts, French terry and fleece sets, sweatpants, sweat shorts and dresses. The shop carries women’s, men’s and unisex apparel. Hickey and Menchaca, who've 30 years of experience in the style industry, began the business in 2020. Balmain’s recent, 1,077-square-foot store houses the ladies’s, men’s and accessories collections, and there's also a personal suite for VIP appointments. The shop soft launched earlier in March, with creative director Olivier Rousteing officially cutting the ribbon this week with a cocktail for patrons and a small, private dinner for friends and collaborators.
