Sachi Skin Sues Current State Founders in Trademark Infringement

Two indie beauty brands are locked in a trademark dispute. Skincare brand Sachi Skin has filed a lawsuit against Current State parent company Seemark Brands, alleging trademark infringement. In court documents filed in Latest York May 12, a grievance from Sachi Skin alleges trademark infringement, false designation of origin and federal unfair competition, and dilution by blurring and/or tarnishment, and unfair competition, amongst other allegations. Those are brought against Seemark Brands and its cofounders Emily Parr and Majeed Hemmat. Parr and Hemmat launched the brand Current State in Goal earlier this yr. Nicole Moore, who until last yr served as director of multicultural brand engagement on the reproductive rights organization, filed a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court alleging that the corporate has long ignored complaints of unfair treatment from Black employees.
