NEW YORK — Day two of the trademark infringement trial between Hermès and Mason Rothschild shed some light on the posh house’s plans for the metaverse, while the constructing blocks of the artist’s profession and the financial allure of non-fungible tokens were among the many items discussed. In January 2022, Hermès sued Rothschild after he released a group of 100 MetaBirkins, NFTs of colourful, phony fur-covered handbags that were inspired by the posh house’s iconic Birkin bag. A motion to dismiss by Rothschild was rejected in March and the jury trial began Monday within the Southern District Court of Recent York with Judge Jed Rakoff. LONDON — Inspiring young people. Coach hosted its first Dream Day of the yr at SoapBox Islington in London with singer and songwriter Bree Runway and YouTube’s chicken shop connoisseur Amelia Dimoldenberg as a part of the Coach Foundation’s partnership with specialist music college SoundSkool and the charity UK Youth. The event was a part of Coach’s Dream It Real, an initiative with the goal of providing 5,000 students from underrepresented communities in North America, China, Japan and the U.K. scholarships and mentorship by 2025. Naomi Campbell walked Schiaparelli’s spring 2023 high fashion show during Paris Couture Week on Jan. 23, wearing a literal animal-inspired ensemble. To support Schiaparelli and their creative director Daniel Roseberry, the legendary supermodel took to the brand’s runway wearing an ankle-length faux-fur coatdress with a wolf head attachment on the shoulder. The look was accomplished with gold-toe heels. Naomi wasn’t the one supermodel on the runway whose outfit took animal inspiration literally. L’Oréal Takes Stake in Korean Temporary Tattoo-Maker – WWD
PARIS – L’Oréal has taken a minority stake in temporary tattoo-maker Prinker Korea Inc. The world’s largest beauty company said in a press release Monday that the investment into the South Korea-based company was made through the company enterprise fund BOLD Business Opportunities for L’Oréal Development. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Prinker Korea, which launched in 2015, invented and manufacturers the world’s first digital temporary tattoo device “with a goal to encourage consumers and offer recent tools for self-expression,” in response to L’Oréal. Prinker’s temporary tattoo device is compact and lightweight, enabling the creation of durable yet easy-to-wash-off tattoos in color or black-and-white, at home or in store.
