EXCLUSIVE: Alexander McQueen Taps Into Candles
LONDON — The Alexander McQueen brand is branching out. The British fashion home is adding a candle collection to sit down alongside its ready-to-wear, accessories and fragrances. It's a natural and infrequently first step for any brand testing the waters to enter the homeware arena. The candle collection is made up of three scents — Ghost Flower, Pagan Rose and Savage Bloom — taking inspiration from juxtapositioned ideas comparable to “light and darkness, innovation and tradition and strength and fragility,” in line with the brand. MILAN- Storied porcelain-maker Ginori 1735 has named actress and model Ko So-Young its brand ambassador for the South Korean market. The news follows the opening of its first directly operated store in Asia with a boutique in Seoul last month. So-Young, who has starred in series similar to “Ms. Perfect,” can also be Ginori 1735’s retail partner — she helped with the concept and owns the physical space — for the boutique situated within the Seongdong District, at 13 Songjeong 4-gil, a suburban area that surrounds the Seoul Forest.
