Houston White Launches Collection With Goal – Essence

Houston White, a North Minneapolis native was introduced to design at nine years old. This fall, his years of exertions are being injected into an exclusive menswear-inspired brand at Goal – the final word shopping destination for arguably any and everybody.  White recalls during highschool he would screen print T-shirts together with his mentor – leading him to eventually sell the shirts out of his backpack to make more money. For years, he’s been inspired by his community and the private style he was exposed to since he was a hip-hop-loving kid. Goal Expecting Fewer Goal Runs This Christmas; Trims Outlook

Goal missed the mark on its latest quarterly earnings expectations.  The Minneapolis-based retailer reported earnings Wednesday before the market opened, revealing quarterly profits that were nearly cut in half because the firm continues to work through excess inventory issues and battles inflationary pressures. The corporate lowered its fourth quarter expectations because of this, causing its shares to fall by nearly 14 percent in pre-market hours.  “Within the latter weeks of the quarter, sales and profit trends softened meaningfully, with guests’ shopping behavior increasingly impacted by inflation, rising rates of interest and economic uncertainty,” Brian Cornell, chairman and chief executive officer of Goal Corp., said in an announcement. “This resulted in a 3rd quarter profit performance well below our expectations.  “While we’re able to...

This Hampton University Grad Created An Inclusive Toy Line

Brooke Hart Jones didn’t know much about Hampton University when she applied for admission within the late 90s. She just knew that when her friend, also a prospective student, talked about his experience while on a tour there, he glowed. “Attending an HBCU, particularly Hampton was one of the vital pivotal decisions I’ve made in life truthfully,” Hart Jones shared with Essence. “And I believe my story is pretty reflective of my friends’ who would say the identical.
