Viola Davis has heard the critics, but she’s not letting the memes or Twitter threads get her down. Amid a slew of fan and critic responses to her starring role in Showtime’s biopic limited series The First Lady, Davis says that it’s unattainable to please everyone with every role she takes on. Davis portrayed First Lady Michelle Obama within the series, which recounted American history through the perspectives of three separate first ladies during their tenures in The White House. Davis’ portrayal stood out to fans, who noted the emphasis the actress placed on Obama’s speech pattern while embodying the role. It might be an enormous night for Black Panther: Wakanda Perpetually, which raked in multiple accolades with acting noms for Angela Bassett’s powerhouse supporting performance as Queen Ramonda and recognition of its costuming, hair & makeup, and visual effects. This also led to yet one more nod for Rihanna’s bittersweet ballad “Lift Me Up” from the Wakanda Perpetually soundtrack. Her pre-teen is blossoming beautifully and popped out together with her mom to the worldwide premiere of the Oscar winner’s latest film. The 2 ladies were also accompanied by Julius Tennon, Viola’s husband and Genesis’s father.  The mother-daughter duo looked stunning rocking vibrant gowns.
