Inside Chanel’s Recent Williamsburg Fragrance and Beauty Boutique –
Chanel goes big on brick-and-mortar, starting in Brooklyn. The prestige brand is opening a 1,324.5-square-foot boutique in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood on North sixth Street that may encompass makeup, skincare, fragrance, Chanel eyewear and seasonal, small leather goods. It also will offer distant ordering, curbside pickup, same-day delivery and virtual shopping appointments. A chosen space for personal consultations will include a menu of services, from constructing skincare routines to education around makeup routines and the brand’s fragrance offering, which celebrated its centennial in 2021. The boutique opens Thursday. Sephora Debuts First Documentary Film – WWD
Sephora has taken its marketing efforts to recent heights — and a recent medium. The retailer is debuting a documentary film this week called “The Fantastic thing about Blackness.” It chronicles the inception, decline and relaunch of Fashion Fair, which got here back to market last 12 months under the ownership of Desirée Rogers and Cheryl Mayberry McKissack. Sephora created the film in partnership with Vox Media’s Epic Digital and Vox Creative subsidiaries, in addition to Ventureland. P&G Beauty Creates Recent Specialty Beauty Division – WWD
P&G is officially diving back into the high-end beauty pool. The patron products giant announced it has created a latest division, Specialty Beauty, that can include brands that operate in specialty and/or prestige retail channels across brick-and-mortar and direct-to-consumer. That features the three brands P&G snapped up in late 2021 for greater than $1 billion — the skincare lines, Farmacy and Tula Skincare, and hair care business, Ouai, in addition to First Aid Beauty, which it bought in 2018.
