I try not to buy fitted pants without actually trying them on (which is difficult, because shops think us plus size girlies shouldn't have clothes to try on in store).
But if I was feeling lazy, I'd prefer to trust holding pants flat across my stomach than doing the weird neck thing. It is quicker and less weird than the neck method, and seems more accurate.

I wear a chef coat at work, I find it easier and looks better to fold up the sleeves before putting the shirt on! Let me know if you like that "hack/trick" ❤

I can tell you now that the pant hack probably will work now because I’m a much healthy weight. Yes even if I’m just over 100 kg but I was 163 kg and this hack would not of worked 😅😅.

I’m gonna go with, you definitely have to have a more conventional body shape to do the pants hack. I’m a US size 16-18, carry most of my weight in the tummy/hips/thighs. I have tried the neck hack at thrift stores that don’t have dressing rooms and not once has the hack worked for me. Pants are always too tight. 🙁

I think it was da Vinci who figured out that a string wrapped around your thumb twice is the measure of your wrist. A string wrapped around your wrist twice is the measure of your neck. And a string wrap twice around your neck is the measurement of your waist. This is just supposedly if your body is mathematically anatomically correct

Putting my pants around my neck has been the only way I have ever purchased pants for my entire life. I fluctuate between an 8 and a 10 and sometimes even a 12 but if I put it around my neck. And it fits, I know. It's going to fit my waist. It's a wonderful hack. I don't know why it works, but it does.

Should not watch these videos before I go to bed. I'm in the UK and watched last night. I then dreamt I was doing a dog toy testing video. In particular different style balls. One of them flashed. I then woke up and could see flashing on the ceiling. It was 2.30am. I spent 10 minutes looking for a flashing ball ..torch was on, searching all around the bed…on the floor…nope. Still flashing. My husband then wakes up and asks what the chuff I was doing. I told him I was looking for a flashing dog ball. And pointed to the ceiling. He then told me it was workmen outside, putting out road closure signs. That's when I fully woke up.
So ..from now on, I will be watching these when I wake up in the morning. Just thought you might like to see how you're influencing people across the pond…in some way 😂😂😂 keep doing what you're doing. It's fab!

I consistently use the pants/neck hack. I have been between a size 14 and up to a 20 over the course of my life and this hack works 96% of the time. The only time it's a little iffy is if the pants has stretch. To do the hack accurately hold each seam of the waist band from the outside and wrap them around your neck. If the seams don't touch at all they will not fit. If they touch within 1/8-1/4 of an inch they will be snug, and slightly uncomfy if you have more of a belly than Rachel does. The goal is 1/2 inch overlap. Those will fit the best. Anything larger and you will need a belt and will give you that stupid back gap. If you struggle with eyeball measurements here's some girl math for you is: the distance between you tip of the finger and your fist knuckle is roughly an inch for quick measure the end of your nail bed is about 1/2 inch <3 Oh yeah this hack is most helpful at thrift stores.
