Its kinda like the makeup forever glosses, I have three of them and the applicator is exactly the same as well as the minty-tingly feeling, the only difference is theirs isn't ph adjusting and is a normal colored gloss but id definitely recommend this as a dupe! (unless you want your gloss to be colored tho!)

The only dye that reacts in lips ph is pink, if we naturally have different ph, We'll see more shades.

Whoever paid attention in chemistry knows everyone has the same ph (5,5) which is on the more sour side. Soaps are the opposite, that's why they work and that's why water can't replace it.

Honestly, I think it has more to do with subtle undertones. I don’t know why it wasn’t noticeable to you, but I can see a slight shade difference. I would have to go with the lilac or blue for myself because I have a muted olive skin tone with blue undertones. And when I do pinks, it doesn’t work, but I think the colors are not to create a bright blue or purple or pink lip stain,but a gloss to enhance your own skin tone and they have a range for whether you are a warm tone, a cool tone, a muted tone, etc..

I think the color is lowkey for fun. A lot of people like the different colored glosses but they want the actual shade of the lip gloss to be pink
