After watching this video I realized two things that make me believe Justin wanting to marry Hailey was out of spite towards Selena (which I actually never fully believed until recently)
1.) Justin and Selena broke up and he gets engaged shortly after…why on Earth would he chose to say the things he did publicly in his announcement to the world? Things like “My heart is COMPLETELY and FULLY YOURS” and how he wouldn’t want to spend his life with Anyone else? Under normal circumstances that is beautiful however he was literally just with someone else. Saying that and capitalizing certain words, in my opinion, seems like it was a jab to Selena and he wanted her to know she was that “anyone else” he doesn’t want to spend his life with. Someone with decency and just got out of a romance with someone they cared about, whether they chose them or not, would consider that persons feelings to some degree rather than act as if they never even existed.
2.) If both of them really wanted genuine marriage based off of love, why was the actual marriage so rushed? Why didn’t they plan it out and include the people they loved if it was such a loving moment? It’s one thing to get engaged after a short time period or get married quick but they are both wealthy enough to take their time and have an actual ceremony that they enjoyed. Why would that ceremony come a year later? It seems like they (more so him) rushed the legal marriage instead of taking time to have a ceremony at that time because it was something pushing him to get this done in a hurry. Having been in a toxic relationship myself, it looks like he wanted her to hurt, for whatever reason, so he did something quick and based off anger and spite. He couldn’t wait and plan a actual wedding like most people do because he wanted her to feel that pain as quickly as possible, as if he had some type of mission.
This is all my opinion by the way.
