Maybe MGC is concerned that if she gave us a hint of classic Dior glamour, that she would be expected to provide it again and again. Perhaps her reasoning is "if I never give them what they're desiring, they'll stop expecting it from me"….not sure I understand that, but I suppose I should appreciate her for sticking to her vision. I don't hate her general aesthetic as much as many people to but my problem with this collection is, the one thing I've come to love about her approach, the incredible fine detail (often not visible on a runway like this) is almost completely missing here. There's some craftsmanship in some of the fringe pieces (good lord the sea of impractical fringe this season) but that's it….everything else is relying on the sportiness and you just can't build an entire Dior collection off of that.
That and the archer was just incredibly distracting. I appreciate the celebration of women as masterful athletes, but sometimes the implication with MGC and her point of view is: traditional glamour is un-feminist. I think that's reductive messaging in a world where being a woman can mean so many different things.

This is another awful Maria Disgrazia Collection. where´s the Dior roots? where´s the soul of the brand? this is something perfect for a Streetwear brand, not for Dior. Dior used to be glamorous, extravagant, luxurious, not this.

Tailoring and fabrics are good as always. Bringing /interpreting the brand to a new modern/different time is absolutely fine as well.
Nevertheless, the result is not representing the brand concept – unique luxury /exclusivity creativity & celebration of femininity/shape. In this particular occasion the collection was poor/banal.
Maria Grazia is like screaming " this is me" ( all this self defence art messages/installation) & she is get celebrities on board to prove a point. There is not point to prove.
I think that MARIA GRAZIA is very talented designer but she not suitable for the brand.
She should have her own collection called "MARIA GRAZIA CHIURI " & embrace the freedom to do what she believes is right for her. As usual perfumes & accessories will balance the books & she will continue to cash her massive salary. Why not?

The only thing that was interesting about this show was the option and the threegorgeous gowns. The open toe trainers were hideous. And I couldn’t properly see the bags.

off the shoulder black things ad infinitum in some of the staging that seems to be saying something about shooting down an eye/maybe the male gaze. Maria Grazia Chiuri will never run out of ideas when she uses so few per show. I wonder if this is some feminist idea of fashion, where any sort of aesthetic/judgement on what a woman looks like is regarded as patriarchal and you are left whirling in the void.
