I worked in various sand and gravel quarries and soil stripping for archaeological units around the UK.
When a artifact is found its a sense of pleasure at finding something ancient . I can imagine the grins on those diggers faces , but one must adhere to health and safety on those sites . Here the company could fence off an area for diggers bringing their own small shovel and sieve and charging say $5 entry , which the company could donate to a charity .
