So I think what is going on here is that a non-pilot family moves into the area around an active airport because of cheaper property prices. However, they don’t like airplane noise so they try to hinder airport operations as much as possible. I see this happening all over the place with subdivisions popping up next to airports that have been active since they were built in WWII. Those communities then start complaining about airplane noise and through the local government hinder airport operations as much as they can.

There's got to be somewhere else to put this tower. Like, literally anywhere else. These are massive telecom companies with billions in resources and connections across local and state governments. Cellular towers broadcast omnidirectionally, but airplanes have a limited number of headings and altitudes they're able to fly- the tower could move without affecting signal, but the planes cannot deviate without causing a hazard. One can move, the other cannot. Plus, the tower is new construction interfering with an already-established area. Honestly, this should be an easy win for the community, but in today's world NOTHING comes easy. Best of luck to these pilots in their efforts!
