Ritual’s Recent Skin Care Complement Hydrates From the Inside

Ritual’s Recent Skin Care Complement Hydrates From the Inside
Ritual is entering the wonder category with its first skin care-focused complement, called HyaCera, $54.  The brand new product comes because the complement market continues to grow, alongside interest in beauty ingestibles. In line with Mintel, the U.S. complement market is anticipated to grow to about $45 billion by 2027, driven by consumer interest in benefit-focused products — including probiotics or skin health options. Ritual’s in-house insights team has seen this demand from consumers, because it recently launched its Synbiotic+, $54, and is now entering the skincare category, in keeping with the brand. “Besides gut health, it’s [skin supplement] — the highest thing that our customers want Ritual to make,” said founder and chief executive officer Katerina Schneider. The products, which span a brightening spot treatment, a cleanser, a vitamin C serum, a retinol, exfoliating pads and a moisturizer, range in price from $45 to $88. They'll launch on Yse’s website Tuesday. Sims said that her own history with dermatological conditions inspired the brand, which is geared toward hyperpigmentation. “In 2012, my cystic pimples went away, and hyperpigmentation and melasma began to rear its ugly head,” she said. “I attempted every part from cold lasers to being on hydroquinone for months...

The Scalp Care Category Gains Traction – WWD

The Scalp Care Category Gains Traction – WWD
Scalp care is the brand new skincare.  Brands, retailers and salons are betting big on this category, as scalp care has turn out to be a hot topic for a slew of reasons, not least of which is hair loss attributable to effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Data from The NPD Group shows that scalp care is growing across each mass and prestige; the highest shampoo launch within the mass category in 2022 was a scalp care option from Head & Shoulders, for instance.  “It’s definitely been outpacing,” said Larissa Jensen, The NPD Group’s vice chairman of beauty. “It’s not only a prestige-only story.” Inside the prestige market in 2022, scalp care products grew 47 percent and hair thinning products grew 29 percent,...
