There was loads of hubbub surrounding the celebrities sitting front row on the spring couture circuit. Doja Cat and Kylie Jenner caused an uproar upon arriving at Schiaparelli — the previous dripped in 30,000 red crystals, while the latter wore a modified version of the velvet gown topped with a pretend taxidermy lion’s head that might later be seen on Irina Shayk.  These women could have been merely a sideshow to the creative circus that was Daniel Roseberry’s Dante’s Inferno-inspired collection, but their ability to attract attention their bodies spoke to a bigger trend that unfolded on runways — a significant emphasis on the waist. Couture Spring 2023 Trend: Pastels
Lightness was the prevailing mood in Paris for this season’s couture, each when it comes to silhouette (a loosely structured ‘20s line proved pivotal) and color, with delectable pastels and pale hues throughout. Shades of mint, frosted lemon, bubblegum and sherbert were on full display at Giorgio Armani’s harlequin-themed show, which “opened with neat little jackets with the lozenge shapes in relief, and cycled through quite a lot of cocktail looks,” that included “glossy black pants, black knickers or long, narrow black skirts,” reported WWD’s Miles Socha. Saint Laurent has leased the constructing at 30 bis Rue Spontini in Paris that sheltered the legendary designer’s original high fashion house, sources told WWD. Exactly what the Kering-owned fashion house plans to do with the historic venue couldn't immediately be learned. Saint Laurent officials couldn't be reached for comment. Yves Saint Laurent’s move into the Rue Spontini was front-page news in WWD on Nov. 22, 1961, the article recounting that the “house used to belong to the famous French caricaturist Jean-Louis Forain, who died in 1931.” It also noted that the premises were in need of reworking ahead of the couturier’s debut presentation on Jan. 29, 1962.
