Jacquemus Heads South, 4 Amyris Brands Sold, Saks Celebrates

SOUTHERN COMFORT: After bucking expectations with a show on the Palace of Versailles, Simon Porte Jacquemus is on the brink of pack his bags for an additional trip to more familiar territory: the South of France. The designer will stage his next show on Jan. 29 on the Fondation Maeght within the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the brand said on Monday.  Established by Marguerite and Aimé Maeght in 1964, the private foundation — designed by Catalan architect Josep Lluís Sert — houses artworks by the likes of Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, Wassily Kandinsky, Alberto Giacometti and Joan Miró. “The gathering is known as ‘Les Sculptures’ in homage to Giacometti’s work,” Jacquemus said in a press release shared exclusively with WWD. Sheila Metzner recalls her first commission from a serious Latest York magazine that catapulted her profession. It was within the early ’80s when she received a call from Lloyd Ziff, the creative art director at Vanity Fair, the magazine recently resurrected by Condé Nast. He had seen Metzner’s name on a listing of photographers the previous creative art director, Bea Feitler, desired to work with. DOUBLE TIME: Fashion editors and other professionals in Paris on July 2 might find themselves wishing they might be in two places at the identical time: Alaïa and Celine have scheduled off-calendar runway shows only half-hour apart. It seems logistically unattainable to attend each: Normally shows are scheduled at the least one hour apart during official fashion weeks to permit sufficient time for participants to attend all events. As reported, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode published its provisional couture-week calendar on June 5, with 32 houses scheduling fall 2023 runway shows between July 3 and 6.
