French Investment Fund Experienced Capital Shakes Up Leadership
PARIS — French investment firm Experienced Capital is shaking up its leadership. Frédéric Biousse and Elie Kouby, who cofounded the corporate in 2016 with fellow ex-SMCP (Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot) executive Emmanuel Pradère, have relinquished their operational roles within the firm, effective Nov. 13, ECP said on Wednesday. Because it gears up for its next fundraising round next 12 months, Experienced Capital might be managed by Pradère, president of the corporate since 2019, and team members Alban Gérard, partner since 2021; Amélie Gosselin-Furno, who has been appointed partner as a part of the restructuring, and Virginie Birade, director. MILAN — Beauty brand Yepoda has closed a series A funding round led by JamJar Investments and former Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. executive Chris Good, who will join the label not only as investor but additionally as adviser. Fragrance brand Ellis Brooklyn has closed a $9 million Series A investment round led by enterprise firm REDO Ventures.  Ellis Brooklyn was created in 2014 by Bee Shapiro, a former attorney and longtime Recent York Times beauty columnist and launched on Sephora.com two years later with 4 high quality fragrances that focused on sustainability.  The brand makes fragrances, candles and private care products and is carried at Ulta, Nordstrom, Bluemercury and Credo, and internationally at Mecca, Liberty London and Space NK. PARIS – L’Oréal has agreed to take a minority stake in Shinehigh Innovation, a Chinese innovation-led biotech company specializing in supramolecular chemistry. This marks the primary open innovation investment the wonder giant has made through Shanghai Meicifang Investment Co. Ltd., L’Oréal China’s investment company, with support from Business Opportunities for L’Oréal Development, or BOLD, which is the group’s strategic innovation enterprise capital fund. It's also the primary investment from L’Oréal’s Big Bang Tech Innovation Challenge, which the corporate launched 4 years ago in China.
