Unilever Ventures Invests in Esqa, an Indonesian Beauty Brand
PARIS — Indie Indonesian vegan beauty brand Esqa has raised $6 million in a series A round led by Unilever Ventures, Unilever’s enterprise capital and personal equity branch, which is making its first foray into Southeast Asia with the investment. East Ventures also contributed to the funding. Esqa is billed to be the primary vegan cosmetics brand to have launched in Indonesia, the fastest-growing beauty market in Southeast Asia, in accordance with digital ecosystem lab iStrata, citing Statista data. Esqa is understood for its makeup products, but has just expanded into skincare. The brand has 120 stock keeping units, with each being certified halal — alongside vegan. KKR Invests in Botox Provider SkinSpirit – WWD
SkinSpirit, the medical beauty services provider, has gained a recent investor. Private equity giant KKR has taken a minority stake in the corporate. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, though a joint statement from each parties described the investment as “notable.” GreyLion, the firm that took a stake in SkinSpirit in 2018, will remain a minority owner within the business. Iris Ventures Invests 6M Euros in Olistic, a Wellness
LONDON — In its bid to back purpose-led consumer brands, Iris Ventures has invested 6 million euros in Olistic, a science-backed nutraceutical brand that treats hair loss and the approach to life aspects that contribute to it.
