Aspen Shopping Scene Heating Up for the Holidays

Balmain is landing in Aspen, Colorado, this week. And it’s not alone. The French brand is an element of a growing variety of fashion houses holding events and opening temporary pop-up shops in mountain resorts for the vacations, chasing the growing ski gear and equipment market that in keeping with Future Market Insights, is projected to have a worldwide revenue size of $1.6 billion in 2022 and $2.26 billion by 2032. It’s unsustainable to supply shows every six weeks in a dirty, leaky space on top of operating a practice and job. MICKEY, which began as grassroots venue Courtney Blades in 2010, underwent a technique of “forced upscaling...

PARIS — Paris Fashion Week is back in full swing and with it's a plethora of recent shops, eateries and exhibits to examine out. Shops That Pop L’Ingénieur Chevallier traces its roots back to 1740, when the grandfather of Jean Gabriel Augustin Chevallier became optician to France’s King Louis XV. Chevallier went on to invent the microscope and opera glasses, along with his company eventually becoming official supplier of the French army. Now owned by family-held eyewear specialist Maison Bonnet, its Rue des Pyramides store, first opened within the ’20s, has been revamped by noted designer Pierre Bonnefille. It will offer limited-edition models handmade in Burgundy by a master craftsman alongside selections from high-end area of interest labels.  Long live the queen — of knits and...
