DUBAI — Chopard Parfums unveiled its recent high perfumery collection, Gardens of Paradise, here amid an opulent dinner within the courtyard of the One and Only Hotel. Guests including Chopard chief executive officer Caroline Scheufele and British-Moroccan model Nora Attal dined on a meal created by star chef Yannick Alléno, who took inspiration from the fragrances.
Inspired by Arabian gardens, the 4 fragrances — Orange Mauresque, Jasmin Moghol, Rose Seljuke, Miel d’Arabie — were created by renowned perfumer Alberto Morillas.
In accordance with Chopard, the gathering boasts certainly one of the best percentages of pure natural ingredients of any perfume in the marketplace. “We would like luxurious uncomplicated fragrances, where you may immediately smell what the core of the fragrance is. Simplicity is the true meaning of luxury,” asserted Patrizio Stella, ceo of Chopard Parfums.
Having established Chopard’s fragrance house after a few years of collaborating with partners like Coty, Stella noted it echoes the jeweler’s mission of sustainable luxury. That meant placing natural, positive and ethical perfume making at the center of the maison. “True luxury is about natural, being easy, being effective, going back to the actual quality of the ingredients,” he said.
Launching the perfumes in Dubai is a vital litmus test for the brand, he said. “We would like to be sure it’s successful within the Middle East before taking it further.”
Morillas said he took inspiration from the region, especially for the hero fragrance of the gathering, Miel d’Arabie. “I desired to recreate the peaceful and restoring aura of the oasis, and its tradition of hospitality,” he explained.
The Gardens of Paradise collection is to launch next week at Harrods, with a wider release from April.
