PARIS, FRANCE: Dior has officially announced BTS member Jimin as its global ambassador. The announcement was made on social media by the posh fashion house on Monday, January 16. The singer is the newest to hitch the French brand’s ambassadorship and is the primary member of the band with a solo brand deal.

The K-Pop band’s working relationship with Dior dates back to 2019 when Dior menswear designer Kim Jones designed stage outfits for the BTS world tour ‘Love Yourself: Speak Yourself.’ In April 2021, the band has previously been named the brand ambassador of Louis Vuitton and the ambassadorship has now ended, as per the WWD report.

In June 2022, the band made an announcement on taking a break as they intend to explore solo music projects and pursue their mandatory military duties in South Korea. The members will reportedly reconvene as a gaggle around 2025, in keeping with Deadline. Jimin recently released a collaborative track titled ‘Vibe’ with BigBang’s star Taeyang. He is about to release his solo album as early as next month.

On Monday, Dior made the official announcement of Jimin’s ambassadorship sharing pictures of the singer wearing the brand’s clothing and captioned, “The Home is thrilled to announce @J.M from #BTS as recent Dior global ambassador. Pictured here in a colourful look from #DiorSummer23, the singer is now lending his image to creations from the Artistic Director of Dior men’s collections, @MrKimJones.”

‘Congratulations Dior’

With BTS’s global popularity, awestruck fans worldwide welcomed Dior’s decision to have Jimin as one in every of its global ambassadors. One user on social media wrote, “Jimin goes to slay every outfit, Dior is lucky to have him as their global ambassador” and one other congratulated the posh fashion house, saying, “JIMIN × DIOR That is, most actually, a golden moment within the history of fashion! Congratulations Jimin! Congratulations Dior!”

“I just know saint Lauren, Chanel, Versace, etc: park Jimin please be our global ambassador- Dior: sorry I already won,” a fan wrote and one other remarked, “Congratulations, your recent global ambassador is an Icon.”

Following the news of Jimin’s ambassadorship, fans even expressed that they’re switching to Dior. A fan wrote, “My recent home @Dior. I’m changing to Dior due to my sweet Angel I’m so excited and happy with Jimin #DiorSummer23,” and one other tweeted, “Any further I’m switching my whole lifestyle to Dior, there isn’t any query about it, Dior u have taste for the most effective artist within the industry”.
