MONTE CARLO, Monaco — At essentially the most recent edition of Luxe Pack Monaco, aisles were humming with attendees on the hunt for premium packaging solutions — not least with a sustainability bent. It was a season of firsts for the trade show, which ran from Oct. 2 to 4 in Monte Carlo, Monaco. One was the appearance of a direct Paris-to-Monaco TGV train running specially for Luxe Pack-goers. One other was the brand new Luxe Home section, dedicated to interiors. Nathalie Gerschtein’s 21-year profession has spanned geographies, categories and types. She spent nine years in Europe to work in product management for L’Oréal Paris, before heading to India to helm brands like L’Oréal Paris and Garnier. Then it was on to Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, where she eventually became the chief executive officer of that division of L’Oréal. Jane Fernandez, Onda’s president up until Amyris revealed its closure and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings last month, has taken over Onda Beauty’s leases in Hampton Bays and TriBeCa. Her brainchild, Sommetbeauty, will present an evolved assortment much like its predecessor’s, focused on clean beauty, with each stores currently open. “My team and I rallied and said this was such an incredible business, and still was a fantastic business with a fantastic portfolio of brands.
